Assistant Managing Editor

Cutter Consortium is seeking an Assistant Managing Editor. The Assistant Managing Editor will work with the Managing Editor to commission the content for Cutter’s advisory services, ensuring it meets the needs of Cutter’s clients and that all content is A+ quality. The ideal candidate possesses intellectual curiosity, strong written and verbal ability, and scheduling and planning skills. While a broad knowledge of IT and business topics is important, critical skills include the ability to develop and build relationships with independent authors using diplomacy and tact.

Responsibilities include researching potential article topics and authors, soliciting and assigning articles, negotiating scheduling issues, providing feedback as needed to authors, and performing an initial content review/edit.

PR and Events Coordinator

Cutter Consortium is seeking a full-time PR and Events Coordinator. The PR and Events Coordinator plans and manages conferences, workshops, and meetings, webinars/online conferences, spearheads the company’s PR program, and provides overall marketing support.

Responsibilities include site selection, contract negotiation, and logistics management for live events, producing webinars and other online conferences, working with presenters to fine-tune presentation materials; creating press opportunities and pitching programs, drafting and editing press releases, responding to press inquiries, managing PR database, collecting and distributing press clippings; developing/publishing online surveys; and working with the rest of the marketing team to ensure marketing programs are executed smoothly.

The successful candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience and be a multi-tasker with strong relationship-building skills and a keen eye for detail. Other skills required include negotiating and bargaining contracts, risk and crisis management, the ability to organize, direct, and coordinate projects, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe Connect or similar online meeting tool, and Quark XPress.
