In my previous Advisors in this series, I put forward a hypothesis that the growth of uncertainty in modern business changes the rationale of IT investment decisions from a thorough business case analysis to simplifying heuristics such as "flocking" or "underpromise/overdeliver." In this Advisor, which concludes this short series on business case, I would like to sketch an answer to the following questions: are heuristics good or bad, and how can we improve our ways of dealing with uncertainty?
