Web 2.0 in the Enterprise: What the Data Tells Us About Adoption and Impact

by Stephen J. Andriole

This Executive Report by Steve Andriole is the second in a series that describes the adoption of Web 2.0 technologies and the impact they are having in the enterprise. The first report looked at Web 2.0 technology through the anecdotal eyes of adopters by conducting a series of interviews with managers and executives to measure the adoption and impact of these technologies. In this report, we describe the results of survey data analysis that measures the impact that Web 2.0 technologies are having across six impact areas: (1) knowledge management (KM); (2) rapid application development (RAD); (3) customer relationship management (CRM); (4) collaboration and communication; (5) innovation; and (6) training.
