Despite the demise of the dot-com boom and the current economic malaise within the software industry itself, the Internet continues to grow at an impressive rate, with the Web comprising about half of all traffic. Similarly, revenue from Web-based business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) transactions continues to grow, sustaining and sometimes even exceeding earlier predictions made during ostensibly overexuberant times.
