Operational Business Patterns: Part I -- Getting at the Fundamentals of EA

In this Executive Update, the first in a series of three, Dan Berglove and I will explore in more detail our experience with what we call "operational business patterns." Having worked together closely for seven years, we've come to the conclusion that these patterns offer a highly valuable approach to apprehending business requirements for EA in a way that gets right to the heart of business-IT alignment. Indeed, the evidence shows that a lack of alignment to business drivers, goals, and priorities continues to be a common failure point for EA efforts.3
