UI Architecture: EA's Neglected Stepchild

"User interface architecture," a colleague scoffed recently, "is nothing but an invention for letting Web designers charge architects' consulting rates." I couldn't disagree more. I'm happy to make the case that, first, user interfaces (UIs) are quite amenable to principled, methodical thinking and that, second, overall enterprise architecture (EA) benefits when it is extended into the client application and onto the screen.
