In May 2002, Cutter Consortium conducted a survey asking 118 companies various questions pertaining to the application of data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) for analyzing supply chain operations. In Part II of this series (see Executive Update, Vol. 2, No. 9), we examined survey findings indicating a strong need for organizations to reengineer their business processes to support their supply chain intelligence (SCI) initiatives; organizational and cultural impediments to SCI; and the need for organizations to use outside consulting and services firms to assist them with their supply chain analytics applications.
