Enterprise architecture (EA) has the potential to help companies bring control and consistency to their IT organizations and better align IT with business strategy and goals. For these (and other) reasons we have seen huge growth in EA activities during the past few years. However, while many organizations have created architectures, programs, and/or groups, a fair number of those same organizations are struggling to realize the benefits of EA.
