Applications Strategy: Making the Right Investments At the Right Time At the Right Price
There's a pretty good chance that your applications portfolio is not what it should be. It probably consists of a hodgepodge of applications developed during the past 20 years or so that require some form of life support to exist. You've probably got applications that are host-based, some client-server applications, and some Internet applications that are driving your e-business strategy. Your applications maintenance and support costs are probably too high (if you can even accurately determine what they are). You probably don't have a standard applications architecture in your organization and are unlikely to have internal "consultants" supporting applications design and development.
