Requirements Management Strategy: Extending Systems Requirements Management to the Enterprise
This report is about how you identify and model requirements -- all requirements. The essence of the argument made here is that all the good stuff we've learned about systems requirements management can be extended to every type of requirements management. There's not much difference between the requirements to design and develop a new, inter-active, computer- based system and the requirements for the optimal location of a new manufacturing plant. There's also not much that is more important to your business-IT alignment strategy than good requirements management. Without it, you might deploy the wrong communications architecture, install the wrong data warehouse, or implement the wrong e-business model. The possibilities for problems are endless.
