It's hard to deny that teams and collaborative workgroups are one of the most, if not the most, effective IT organization work styles being adopted today. So it seems natural that forming teams within your IT organization should be the construct of choice. No doubt this is true, but there are numerous considerations that can make or break your best efforts to instill the team concept into your IT organization. The good news is that you can do it successfully and produce results beyond your imagination. The bad news is that you can really mess up and negatively affect the organization.
