CIOs Are Shopping Again: What They Plan to Buy in 2005

While interviewing some Fortune 500 CIOs recently, I asked them about their plans for 2005. A few of them laughed, a few nodded their heads (I guess indicating that they indeed plan to do something in 2005), and a few others actually perked up. After a few minutes, they all chimed in with responses. Perhaps the most startling thing about their answers was the operational and practical nature of their plans, though there's some bona fide strategy embedded in there as well.
