Open source software has enjoyed enormous growth in the last decade, but -- ethics and engineering aside -- we are all still wrestling with the question of whether or not open source can be a strategically superior way in which to approach the market. In other words, how can firms build profitable, sustainable business models around producing and/or consuming open source software?
