Our objective in this two-part Update series is to provide a framework that you can use to evaluate potential investments in virtualization technologies. We have recently had the benefit of assessing several possible investments by organizations, including virtualization technologies. Based on those experiences, we have developed a relatively simply financial model that may help you, particularly when compared with many of the seemingly overly complex and possibly questionable financial models that some vendors use to seek your business. The example we use is based on composite data from our recent work.
