Relief for ERP Systems?

During the past 10 years, most large companies have acquired packaged applications, purchasing what are now typically called enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems from PeopleSoft, J.D. Edwards, SAP, and Oracle, among others. In most cases, these companies have spent years struggling to tailor their ERP applications for their specific needs. Not many people love their ERP applications, but most accept that these applications fill a valuable role and won't be going away anytime soon.
