Is it a Process or a Service?

The popularity of service-oriented architecture (SOA), the advancements in business process management (BPM), and the confluence of these technologies has created an understandable confusion about what a process is, what a service is, and how they relate. This is exacerbated by the fact that consistent definitions of these terms have not appeared in the industry or press. However, a general consensus does seem finally to be emerging about their definitions and relationships.
