What Ever Happened to MDA?

by Michael Rosen

A question came up the other day in a discussion about architecture and technology: "What ever happened to MDA?" A Google search for "MDA" returns only a few hits for Model Driven Architecture out of the top 50 results. The Object Management Group's (OMG) site (second on Google behind Muscular Dystrophy Association, by the way) is still plenty active. There, new success stories are posted and the number of "committed companies" is up to 55. However, a careful look through this list reveals several names that are no longer with us, either because they were acquired, ran out of money, or changed directions.
