All of a sudden, enterprise architecture (EA) is a very hot activity. Most large enterprises today have some sort of EA program, and billions of dollars are being spent around the globe on enterprise architectures in order to help organizations manage their vast IT expenditures and exposures in a more rational fashion. An interesting question is, why now? Why is it that enterprise architecture is suddenly so hot? Why are enterprise architects in such demand?
