Conversations on Open Source

The accompanying Executive Report tackles its subject matter in an unusual way compared to most Cutter Consortium reports. In an attempt to understand how open source is viewed in the industry, five interviews were conducted with suppliers and users of open source software (OSS). The transcripts of those conversations are presented in the report, which was prepared in conjunction with a separate study undertaken by Cutter Consortium to explore the trends and mechanisms of the uptake of OSS into mainstream IT environments. The results and analysis of the study, collected by way of an online questionnaire, are available in Cutter Benchmark Review, Vol. 4, No. 12.
