Service-Oriented Integration: Aligning SOA with Enterprise Integration

Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is an enterprise-scale IT architecture for linking resources on demand. It allows enterprises to upgrade their IT infrastructure to a more modern and agile environment, which is essential in today's business world. The enterprise SOA consists of business-aligned IT services that collectively fulfill an organization's business processes and goals. Creating an SOA is complicated, and the complexity increases exponentially since services can't be created from scratch and instead must be developed based on the integration of existing applications.
