Enterprise architecture (EA) is a necessary but difficult capability for most enterprises. An enterprise cannot obtain the flexibility and agility that are required to be competitive without architecture. Without EA, an organization cannot meet its goals for reducing cost and time to market or infrastructure consolidation, nor can it effectively align its IT systems in support of business goals and strategy. Yet most enterprises find EA a challenge and are struggling to achieve the required value and results.
