Ask the Experts: Distributed Computing Architecture

by Douglas K. Barry, J. Bradford Kain, Jason Matthews, Imran Sayeed, Paul Harmon, Ed Yourdon

This Executive Update is the first in a two-part series containing excerpts from a panel discussion on distributed computing architecture. The discussion followed a presentation on distributed computing architecture and took place at Summit 99, Cutter Consortium's annual conference for IT professionals, which was held last month in Boston. The panel was made up of Cutter Consortium Senior Consultants Doug Barry, Brad Kain, Jason Matthews, and Imran Sayeed, with Paul Harmon as moderator. The discussion started with each panel member identifying himself and giving a brief description of his take on distributed architectures, and then audience members asked questions of the panel. Ed Yourdon, Chairman of Cutter Consortium, also jumps in with an occasional comment.
