More on Business Process Change

by Paul Harmon

In our last Executive Update ( Vol. 5, No. 20), I began reviewing the results of a recent Cutter Consortium survey on business process practices. The survey was completed by 257 companies worldwide to determine how companies are handling business process change. The sample includes a wide distribution of industries and nonprofit organizations. The size of the respondents ranges from large companies (earning more than US $1 billion) to medium (between $101 million and $1 billion) to small (less than $100 million). About 32% of respondents come from North America, while 28% come from Europe. The remainder is distributed over the rest of the world, largely reflecting the existing use of IT on the other continents.
