Data mining application developers -- both commercial and corporate -- have been hampered in their efforts to build more integrated and easier to deploy and use data mining applications for a number of reasons. Chief among these has been a lack of interoperability between different data mining tools and other analytical applications. One organization that has not received enough recognition for its efforts to address this problem is the Data Mining Group (DMG).
