CRM = More Than Just Up-Selling and Cross-Selling
Recently I opened a new account at the bank I've used for more than 13 years. While setting up my new account, my "personal banking manager" asked me if I'd like to link it with my existing business checking and personal checking accounts, so I'd be able to conduct transactions between them. She also attempted to carry out the usual cross-sell and up-sell transactions by offering me the chance to put some of the deposit in a CD, and inquiring if I'd like to open a line of credit for my business. Because I already had these services with other institutions, I declined.
