Back in September 2002, I wrote an Advisor stating that the advent of the enterprise information portal (EIP) has helped bring about a revival in the corporate application of knowledge management (KM) technology. (I also credited the commercialization of advanced algorithms employing artificial intelligence (AI) techniques as having helped contribute to this revival [see " Knowledge Management," 3 September 2002]).
