It is way past the point when you would need to describe data warehousing and business intelligence (BI) applications in order to prove the technology works or to prove the value of enterprise data integration -- most organizations are convinced. The problem that organizations are faced with now is implementing BI applications on an enterprise-wide scale so that they accommodate their specific IT architectures and business requirements. Every so often I encounter a company with an implementation story that I feel I should pass on.
