Over the past decade, the Internet has driven information dissemination as well as the marketing and purchase of goods. By now it is commonplace for companies and other organizations to have a Web site. Indeed, several years ago, brick-and-mortar companies had to fight to maintain market share as dot-com companies prolifically sprang up in almost every industry. The new competition taught many an old-school company what speed to Web was all about.
