Reorganizing Business for Collaboration

Today's business structures are built around competition, and managers are schooled in theories of the competitive enterprise. Though Social Darwinism has lost its hold in academia, it has found a place in business. Every aspect of business functions has been viewed as either an aid or a hindrance to competitiveness. At the same time, the countering tactic -- collaboration -- has been much less frequently explored. Yet it is collaboration that is becoming increasingly important as enterprises move into the 21st century.
