Web Content Management: The Race to Repurpose
In the years since the Internet boom, and because of pressure from lower-end vendors, Web content management providers have gradually moved downmarket The result is diversification among vendors. High-end vendors still offer sophisticated functionality for almost any task related to building a Web site. Midrange vendors specialize in getting sites up quickly and affordably. ASPs offering Web content management systems (WCMSs) emphasize speed to Web and allow companies to pay as they go. Low-end WCMSs cater to smaller companies that don't need a complicated Web site and have fewer users.
