Major Telecommunications BPR Project Experiences Significant Delay Because of Data Disconnect

Data complexity and quality, when underestimated, have derailed more than one business process reengineering (BPR), enterprise resource planning, or data warehousing project. This case study of a very large telecommunications company, which shall remain anonymous, reviews the company's efforts to migrate from legacy systems to the client-server environment and examining how the project was stalled by a very nasty data quality problem. The study covers the project's background, problem detection, solution development, and automation of the data conversion process.
