Supply Chain Intelligence: Development Issues (Part VI)
Earlier this year, Cutter Consortium conducted a survey asking 118 companies various questions regarding the application of data warehousing and BI for analyzing supply chain operations. In a previous Update in this series ( Vol. 2, No. 13, "Supply Chain Intelligence: Development Issues [Part III]"), I examined survey findings pertaining to the corporate adoption and development of supply chain intelligence (SCI) applications. These findings indicated that few organizations have achieved "complete visibility" into their key supply chain processes and that the majority still have a lot of work ahead of them if they want to make good on their plans to support their key supply chain processes with analytic applications. I also examined the most popular functional supply chain management (SCM) areas companies are choosing to support with supply chain analytics.
