BAM for Operational Business Intelligence

Business activity monitoring (BAM) is one of the most visible examples today of how business intelligence (BI) is moving closer to a real-time operational model. The BAM model emphasizes the concept of providing on-demand (i.e., real-time or near-real-time) access to critical metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) in order to improve the speed and effectiveness of decision making for day-to-day business operations.
