Pure-play business intelligence (BI) providers are taking note of the competitive pressure from new players. However, given their history as integration- and billable hour-intensive enterprises, the pure-plays likely will be slow in adopting an out-of-the-box deployment strategy in order to turn a lucrative service business into a commodity.
