Time for the Innovation Manifesto?
Innovation is a buzzword that has been overused during the last few years. The sad truth is that almost everyone would like to be innovative, but only a few can be. The good thing is that many could be much more creative than they are; it only requires establishing values and the borders of an environment within which such creativity is possible. I prefer to think about the landscape of innovation rather than the innovation management process. I see it this way because the situation with the process seems to be similar to the software development process. We can work for years trying to find the perfect process definition and then another few years on attempts to apply it, or we can draw conclusions from that lesson.
