There's an old saying: "Don't borrow trouble," meaning don't worry about problems until they become real. Unfortunately, that's a recipe for disaster in today's litigious software development climate. Today's software shortcuts are tomorrow's Year 2000 nightmares -- nightmares that can not only spawn litigation between companies, but also affect the viability of major corporations and the personal liability of their directors.
