Overcoming the Impediments to Enterprise Adoption of Wireless Data Systems

For some time now, it has been conventional wisdom in the wireless industry that enterprise customers are the key to the takeoff of the wireless data market. As with data in the wireline world, it is believed that wireless data will be principally a business function, and so the market will be led by enterprise adoption, even though carriers expect to derive ancillary benefits (read: huge revenues) as the mass market adopts offshoots of broad business applications, such as wireless e-mail.
