Wireless Security: The Key to Success for M-Commerce

Wireless is one of the biggest challenges in the security market. Greater demand to share information with customers and partners is putting new stress on companies to prevent that information from falling into the wrong hands. This article addresses state-of-the-art security measures to protect wireless transactions. Better security is critical: by 2004, there could be more than one billion wireless device users, some 600 million wireless Internet subscribers, and a US $200-billion mobile commerce (m-commerce) market [1]. By 2008, the number of wireless Internet devices could outnumber wired devices [2].
