Thanks to globalization, both large multinational corporations and small companies are taking new approaches to the marketing, development, and sales of products and services. Worldwide teams with diverse expertise work together to implement the various business functions. For example, a team in the US designs and integrates a system that is manufactured in China with components from Japan and Singapore and software developed in India. Other teams in various countries throughout the world then market and sell the product to their customers. This decentralization of business activities demands effective coordination and continuous communication capabilities.
