The New CIO Agenda: Opening Statement
It is time for a new CIO agenda. CIOs and their teams have checked off many of the old agenda items: Y2K, the Internet, and enterprise-level systems. Those challenges each represented a major wave of change involving IT. While many organizations surfed these waves successfully, the need for a new agenda grows clear as CIOs face new challenges, from maturing technology to new sourcing models, that threaten their very existence. Our authors for this issue have approached the idea of the new CIO agenda from several different perspectives, demonstrating the richness and potential awaiting today's senior technology leaders.
