This month's issue of Cutter IT Journal is the first of two on agile project management (APM). While APM has grown out of the agile software development movement, its values and practices are being extended for use in other fields. The interest in APM can be seen in a growing number of project management discussion groups, the inclusion of APM as a topic of interest in this year's Project Management Institute Global Conference call for papers, and an expanding number of APM books.1
