Crowdsourcing Knowledge

When most people think about crowdsourcing knowledge, they think about Wikipedia. That's a shame, as it's not a good model to follow. The problem with Wikipedia is that the myth of its success -- that it's the "encyclopedia that anybody can edit" -- conceals the genuine challenges facing any real effort at crowdsourcing work. Many people believe that all you have to do is set up a wiki, invite people to contribute, and wait for them to submit content.
