Now What?

by Stephen J. Andriole

Based on data collected by Cutter thoughout the year 2002, we see that companies understand the need for new, scalable application architectures, supply chain management applications, customer relationship management (CRM), knowledge management, portals, and a variety of other "21st century" applications.¹ We appreciate the importance of security and security technology, and we've finally admitted that standards make good business sense. We're organizing ourselves better, and we've broken much of the code about how to fund business technology. We're even developing realistic approaches to outsourcing. All in all, a solid record with all the right trajectories; far from perfect, of course, but very solid.
