Business Infrastructure

When software organizations are asked about what sets them apart from others in their field, or indeed others in the industry, the response usually centers around things like having the best people, having a great technical solution, or having a great gung-ho attitude. These are all valuable elements to have, and I believe they may be necessary, but are actually insufficient for business success for a number of reasons. From what I have seen, what really sets the great organizations apart from the pack, even those with all the elements listed above, is a great business infrastructure.
