Business Process-Driven Enterprise Architecture

by Ken Orr

Business process-driven enterprise architecture (EA) is my name for developing an enterprise architecture based fundamentally on a business process view of the world. This form of EA takes its cue as much from Michael Porter as it does from John Zachman. Yes, it deals with the columns and rows of the Zachman Framework, but it does this first by understanding where the organization's current business processes and IT assets are, then begins to examine how those processes must change and the appropriate IT to support those changes.
