Let Common Sense Be Your Guide to Agile Processes
During the eight years in which I have implemented the agile process Scrum in organizations and used it to successfully deliver systems, I have had to make numerous adjustments in how I use it. The basic framework remains, but I have had to mix our knowledge of software development, change management, and sociology with a healthy dose of common sense. Why? Because one size doesn't fit all. Everything must be adjusted to work well in specific situations. When asked about the various aspects of agile processes, I tend to say, "It depends on common sense." If it doesn't make sense, it probably won't work.
