A majority of software projects are small. According to an Industry Canada survey, more than 70% of projects have team sizes in the six-to-50-staff-member range and durations in the two-to-12-month range [37]. Similarly, a recent international benchmark revealed that more than 90% of the projects in its sample had maximum team sizes of 12 members [24]. 1
