Managing Complexity and Uncertainty in Software Projects

This report discusses the discipline of software development project management (SDPM) in the context of five generic categories: linear, incremental, iterative, adaptive, and extreme. I provide working definitions for these categories and discuss which projects are best suited to each approach. Finally, this report provides an introduction to the emerging discipline of SDPM.
