Refactoring in the Context of Enterprise Architecture

by Sebastian Konkol

This Executive Report by Sebastian Konkol focuses on temporalities embedded in enterprise architecture and offers a means of organizing them inside technology management processes. The temporalities can be considered a requirement conditionally met -- something between a requirement completely implemented and a bug report. They are built around conditions that, if met, would render a solution no longer acceptable. The report introduces the concepts of a temporarily acceptable solution and a refactoring need, which are objects to be included in the scope of some technology management processes.
