A company that has managed to implement enterprise risk management and governance (ERM&G) without creating a risk-averse company culture is Rockwell Collins, headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA. Rockwell Collins is an avionics equipment provider to most of the world's airline manufacturers and was selected to be a major supplier to Boeing for its 7E7 Dreamliner passenger jet. In 2004, Forbes magazine named Collins one of the best managed companies in the US. A major reason for Collins's success is its aggressive approach toward risk management. At Collins, ERM&G is viewed as a strategic corporate advantage, allowing the corporation to take on risks that its competitors fear.
